Milestone

First License Agreement Signed

A landmark achievement for the UBL Cell — the first commercialisation of a UWU patented innovation.

The University Business Linkage Cell signed its first non-exclusive licence agreement with Thanuki Products, Nuwara Eliya Road, Balumgala, Boragas — for commercialising the UWU innovation "Gluten-free Finger Food for Toddlers".
The IP transfer was officially held on 10th November 2021 at the Vice Chancellor's office. The product is a cereal-based biscuit for toddlers over 1 year — gluten-free, rich in protein and dietary fibre with a 6-month shelf life.
